Try doing a search in this forum-- that seems to be one of the most common questions around here. There ought to be a FAQ or something, but I haven't found one yet.

reprogramming
this is going to sound like a voodoo ritual but here goes
1 unlock your drivers door with the key and get in 2unlock and then lock your door with the vehicles power lock button 3insert and remove your key in the ignition 6 times within 10 seconds (not as easy as it sounds) 4if you did that right your hazard lights will flash once 5turn the key to the acc position 6press any button on your keyless remote and the hazard lights should flash once more 7turn off the key and remove 8 hop out of your vehicle and try the remote it should work the only thing i may have screwed up is step 2, it might be lock and then unlock I know the rest is correct g'luck |

Well I finally did mine the other day-- so I can make some quick comments on the above procedure.
1) You don't have to unlock with the key, just unlock it however you want, get in, and lock the doors. 2) Yes, it's tricky to do the "insert key 6 times" thing just right so that the hazards flash-- I had to try it several times before it worked. I was doing it too slowly to start with. 3) The rest of the procedure looks right from what I remember-- thanks for posting!

Mine's a 2002, sorry. Plus, I'm out of town right now and can't check it.

Re: Programming keyless remote
nevermind i used this info and it works both remotes are working ....Every manufacturer has different means of programming for a replacement remote. The Nissan dealer has a choice of using a computer scan tool known as the Consult-II or the conventional method that you can do yourself. It's not too tough as long as you're using the correct remote. Get in the vehicle. Close and lock all doors utilizing the driver's power-door lock/unlock switch. Insert and remove the ignition key more than six times within a 10-second period (at a rate of one insertion/removal cycle per second). Don't rush the process, and be sure the key is completely withdrawn from the ignition-key cylinder each time it's removed. Turn the ignition to the ACC position and press any button on the remote one time. The hazard lights should flash twice, letting you know your mission is a success. If you were going to program more than one remote, you'd simply unlock and lock the doors once again with the driver's switch and press the one button, one time, on the second remote. The procedure is completed by turning the ignition off, unlocking with the driver's switch, and opening the driver's door...thank unnossingh for the info lol
