Something draining the battery

I have a 2001 T&C LX that seems to be draining a battery faster than it should. I did a little research and learned that the drain on the battery with everything off should be less than 120 milliamps. I tested the drain on my battery and it showed approx 800 milliamps! Is this just normal for a T&C and I am imagining things, or does this sound like a problem? I also found that if I pull either the "IOD" (think this is related to the instrument cluster) or the "HZD LP" fuses the drain drops to ~55 milliamps, which is closer to what I think it should be. Does anyone have any experience with this and could possibly point me in a direction to start looking? I have not had good experiences with dealerships and usually do most of my own mechanicing. Any help or suggestings would be much appreciated! Thanks! Brian

Angry Remove the Key?

We had a similar problem. You can't leave the key in the ignition or it will drain the battery. Someone told us that with the key in the ignition, one of the computers won't shut down, and it keeps using power.

Re: Something draining the battery

Same Problem here. Although dealer is yet to pin-point the issue, I believe that what ever is causing the battery drain, also blew the body control module (cost $450 to replace).

Re: Something draining the battery

Your multimeter in the Amp range, choose the highest. Disconnet the ground off. Place the test leads one on the ground cable the other on the battery post. That should read your battery drain.
Always be careful. Make sure you know how to use the meter. Jose.
