I have no love for Civic and Honda's in general, though I do respect the NSX because of what it is.

As far as trying to drop an RB motor into a Civic I dont think so Tim! For one it is a long straight 6 cy. It is also very heavy compared to the 4 cyl motors out there.

I was just being polite

There is no motor you can put in a Civic (w/o spending more on it than u would buying a freakin' $100,000 GT-R) that has 275hp out of the box.

You want something people will be scared of eh?

Umm...ever even ridden in a swapped Civic? Say with a GSR motor? That's fast enough...

Plus...just turbo and bam you've got nearly 280hp....

Ok?

Go H22 w/ just 8psi of boost and presto, you just broke the 300hp mark. Hahaha... Oh man, 275 without any mods? What are you going to do drop in a Chevy 350? hahaha...

How are we supposed to help if your want for a 275hp engine is ridiculus?????

Just go buy a TransAm, Mustang, Camaro or something if you want power.

guys guys...dont dis the civic
remember, it's a fuel-efficient, compact, family car
its the best bang-for-buck IMO
compare it to cars like the Corolla, Swift, Cavalier, Protege
which one would you take?

As for the SR20DET, its a Silvia engine...Nissan...that's going to require some extra work placing a Nissan into a Honda

Assuming you have alot of money as you sound like you do, go for the JDM Prelude Type-S engine. The engine code is H22A, 11.0:1 Compression Ratio, 220hp@7200rpm, 163-lb-ft@6500rpm. HOwever, since the Lude engine is huge, you might have to take away power steering and the A/C.

AFter the engine, go forced induction with either a HKS turbo kit or GReddy. I hear they work well with the H22A

The costs will be sky-high though.

For the money you'd spend hooking up your civic go buy something like a Tsi and hook it up... way easier and cheaper.

Just because they talk a big talk, doesnt mean they walk the big walk... if you watch who talks a big game, you will find out these are the people that end up just stuffing a fart can on the back and type R stickers on their ride. It never leaves the "dream" stage because they have no money or the will to do it.

Im not saying that this guy does or doesnt have alot of money, just saying that my BET would be on that he doesnt. But I could be wrong

which is why it shouldnt be considered for high speed purposes

brand new speaking..
Civic Si 160hp $17,000 $106.25 / hp
Camaro SS 320hp $23,000 $71.86 / hp

what's the bargain now? not to mention a ton faster and responds 3x better to modifications.

um.. how about Sentra, Impreza, or Neon. I dunno now..

yeah, and more money than you'll pay for a new Corvette

great to see you can look up stats, but you obviously have no clue that a turbo kit cant be used with 11.0:1 compression unless you have lots of extra money to bulletproof the expensive as hell motor you just swapped in. You could buy a brand new 01 EX coupe for that kinda money.

If there has ever been a reason to quit being associated with the "import" crowd and become a hermit, this thread would have to be it. 275Hp from a civic, STOCK? How about a skyline engine into a civic? A bunch of dumbasses who come into the civic forum just to say how they don't like civic's...

Jon, please do me a proffesional favor and put this thing out of its misery, like it should've been done a long time ago.
