97 Blazer won't start turns over

I own a 1997 Blazer LT with 94000 miles. Last two times I started it, it turned over a couple of times before firing. Usually it fires right away. This morning it just turned over, no start.

I'm going to begin working on it this weekend and wonder if someone can give me some advice on where to start. I was waiting for 100k before changing plugs, wires. Does this vehicle have a cap and rotor? Any other troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

They say I cant put my companies web site here. Well I work for ******** and have a lot of parts experience. THAT'S my reason for having the link. I only post regarding blazers. Have a question about a part? Ask me.

You may want to check fuel pressure, can you hear the pump run for a couple seconds when you first turn the key on?

I will check it tonight when I get home from work. The fuel tank is low on fuel. I need gas but know it isn't out. Lack of head pressure from a low fuel tank coupled with a fuel pump going bad may be a cause. Thanks for this tip. Any others?

When you turn the key to run position do you hear fuel pump run and dash lights come on.If not
its probably ignition switch.Take the bottom cover off the steering column and wiggle the wires.Ignition switch problems are common.

Re: 97 Blazer won't start turns over

Yeah I'm familiar with the pump sound. Kinda of an annoying whine its had since it was new! Again, I'll check it tonight. Had absolutely no time to look at it this morning, had to get to work. My Fuel Gauge has also been inop for the last 30k miles. Works normal til about 1/2 then goes to full again. I use the computer to tell when to get gas. Now I find out the Fuel Pump/sending unit are integral! Also, my brake lights are intermittant due to the hazard switch. This things getting expensive!
