1995 4.3 timming chain help

will a crank sensor shut down car,no spark if it goes bad,jim

no. i have a 95 jimmy and i was able to run it with only 3 plugs firing. and the motor ran but it was rough. i didn't try it on the road but i did have a plug go bad one time so it was missing. it never even back fired the SES light was on but it ran rough but still ran so i'm guessing it won't shut the motor down. it just trys to fix it.

well all timing gear work came out okay,and blazer has been to two good shops,and going to 3trd today.looking for why it quit going down rd.
they have tried everything but computer,and it only sparks for less than 3 seconds,on a couple cylenders,so were still looking why it wont run????

good luck. was the engine runing rough and raw gas could be smelled behind it? we had a 90 chevy with TBI that ran like that and would keep over heating because the computer would not tell the fan to turn on and the A.C. also didn't work. after the O2 sensors were changed and it didn't fix it they changed the computer. fixed everything. you might have to do the same.
