In dash TV

I was gonna put a screen in the radio slot on my 97 civic. That means I'll have to move the head unit to the lower DIN slot (Right above the cup holders). Has anybody put their stereo in the lower DIN slot? Is it hard to change the stations/CD's while driving. I was thinking about it, and I think it would be kinda weird having the head unit that low. anybody??

it would be inconvenient......but if you think back a few years......pre 90's.....almost all receivers were placed really low in the dash...it's just a matter of convenience.....but yeah, a remote helps

I've been kinda pondering the same thing actually....it would depend on how often you go to mess w/ the radion controls when driving. If alot then a hassle unless you have a remote.

Hope this might help though :frog:

i actually had mine down in that slot. i liked it there but it has it's cons:

1. you definetly need the remote
2. a little cutting of the opening itself
3. you cannot put any form of cups in your cup
holder

other than that.......it is a great place for it!

my car was broked into and they took the deck but now i am getting the eclipse motorized screen one.

hehe

I was going to put a tv console in that same area. It would be too low for me b/c I would want to watch it when I drive. Also, do you have a manual or automatic? I also realized that my stick would be in the way as well. Spend your money on one that comes out of your dash and flips up! These look a lot cooler!!!!! Hope this helps!!!

Actually, I was gonna move the head unit to the lower console, and have a flip out headunit Monitor. I actually had a fixed screen in the lower part. REALLY ghetto rigged, here's a link from when I installed it about 6 months ago.
