Somehow I cannot imagine a Rover with dingo balls above the windshield, a statue of the Virgin Mary on the rear shelf, and blairing Mariachi "music?" BOOM....BOOOM...CHI CHI BOOOOMM

Look for MG to announce a move into the US before long...given their heritage in the US the brand could potentially do very well. Ther new hook up with Shanghai Auto could be just what the doctor ordered.

Great, all they need to do is get the K-Series motors compliant with US emissions laws, easier said than done...

MG Rover's best chance of bringing volume products to the US will be if/when SAIC (Shanghai Automotive of China) takes control of the company. SAIC would love access to the American market for some of their Chinese products. With MG Rover, it would be easier due to MG's name recognition. |

Problem with the SV, well at least here in the UK, is you can go out and buy a Porsche 911 for less. Even the GT3 is cheaper than the top Xpower model.

Its all fine and well saying that MG would do well in the US but can any marque survive in the US without having a SUV in its range unless backed by a multi-billion dollar parent company? MG Rover would do well not entering the US market for a while, although the Streetwise,TF and ZT would probably sell like hot cakes.
