Breathers good?

Are breathers that go on the valve cover good for my car or is better running the hose to the intake?

the only thing the tube does is vents excess gas's back into the intake track to be used up. putting a breather on is worthless unless you have oil coming out of the valve cover in which you should get it checked out not put a breather on. other then that .....they just look cool to people who dont know shit.

go ahead and get one and let APC own j00

Hahaha... yeah, exactly. When the oil heats up it creates gases. The gases travel through the tubing and into the intake where it gets burned up through your motor. The breather really doesn't do much. Besides, if you put a breather on your valve cover, then you'll have to do something with the intake side also. You can block and seal the hole but that just looks ugly... or you can put another breather on the intake side. I've seen it done before and I kinda think it looks gay. Like a fake blow off valve or something. Plus you'll have air going through it and do you trust that... do you think it filters enough?

Also if you have emissions testing in your area you will fail with a breather.

... Oh... and regardless of how well the breather filters the air... the nasty gases are still going to sputter into your engine bay. Maybe even through your ventilation system and into the cabin? Yuck.

and upon thinking about it a little more those gases shouldnt be there unless there is a pcv problem. that would be my first assumption.

I recently had to replace that vacuum hose. It tore and the gases were coming out into my engine bay. It was gross and smelled terrible.
