1992 Grand Voyager Fuel pump
Can't start my 1992 VAN. Can't hear characteristic wrmmm of fuel pump after turning key to the ON position. Mechanic said to kick the tank from the bottom creating impact and it worked for 2 days. Now nothing. I was thinking about giving contrary revolution by puting + to the - and vice versa to spin the pump and maybe it'll help. What do you think about it? Where are pump's fuse and relay? Where are pump's positive and ground wires under the hood. Are they marked?
Waiting for news from you |

Re: 1992 Grand Voyager Fuel pump
There is a fuel pump relay in the fuse panel under the hood. Replace it with one from Chrysler. If this does not work don't try crossing the pos and negative terminals you will just do more damage. If your van is a 92 with over 100k miles consider yourself lucky and replace the pump, especially if it is an original.

Re: 1992 Grand Voyager Fuel pump
Take your air filter connection from the plenum and have someone crank the engine. At the same time spray starting fluid in the air intake. Make sure the person in the van steps on the pedal to have a full throttle.
If the engine starts and then dies. Your fuel is not getting to the injectors. If you want to be more sophisticated, mesure the fuel pressure at the fuel rails. Make sure you know how to release the pressure first so you don't get injured by the high pressure fuel. Jose. |
