Re: New system?

MA Audio? MTX? Granted they're better than the other stuff, but I would still go elsewhere. MA is too flashy, and I've heard numerous horror stories about their amps, and MTX just looks and feels like cheap plastic, not to mention their subs still don't sound very good.

I was thinking more along the lines of an IDQ12 or a Shiva on a Profile California amp

Re: New system?

I totally agree with Haibane and sr20de4evr here. HiFonics makes some really good amps. Find one of those. I think you should do alot of reading on this forum before you try to decide on what to get. You will learn what stuff completely sucks and what stuff no one can complain about. Just don't buy crap. Granted you will have to spend more money if you go with better stuff, but you will be very pleased with the sound and you won't have to replace it in 6 months when you realize it's crap, or it dies on you because it really is crap. Also, don't go with a bandpass box, they are one note wonders and sound like crap playing anything else.

Re: New system?

That stuff is pretty good, it's the best thing so far. That amp would be under powering the sub by 80 watts, but it would work. You might want to find a different amp. MTX makes okay amps. Nothing special though. Kicker is strictly an SPL company when it comes to subs, so if you want an sort of sound quality, that wouldn't be the best choice.
