Unhappy 95 SS leaking fluid

My 95 SS has fluid leaking out by the two fitted (transmission??) lines that go into the backside of the radiator, same side as the top hose. The fluid almost looks clear, not what it’s from. I looked at the two (fitted) lines that go into the radiator and they have protective plastic sleeves around them, and in looking in that sleeve I see that the hoses are in fact wet. What confuses me is that I cannot see anything dripping from the connection to the radiator. The fitted hoses actually run “upward” to the radiator and the puddle that forms is actually almost directly underneath the place where the fittings screw into the radiator. (Noticed this upon returning from vacation, car has not been driven since)

Car has approx. 80,000 miles on it, and the low coolant light came and is in fact low in the tank. Anyone ever see this happen or have any ideas? Also, how do you flush the radiator on this??

Thanks,

Re: 95 SS leaking fluid

Hear is an idea, can you see anything leaking from higher up on the motor, the only thing i can think is that is leaking above dripping on the lines or running down the fins of the radiator and running off of those lines. Thats the only thing i can think of...hope it helps,

mike

Re: 95 SS leaking fluid

Id say that theres a good chance that what your seeing is condensation from your Air conditioning compressor, its nothing to worry about. If the fluid smells diffrent from water then you have somthing to worry about.

yeah as I was reading the thread I thought thats what it could have been. Especially if it was clear and not a dark oil or fluid type leak. I think impalas run a seperate Transmission cooler and i even think an seperate oil cooler. This is a feature from the cop cars so that is makes the car be able to run longer.

Lesser performance cars run other lines into the actual radiator core for cooling of other fluids, the impala is not setup like that to the best of my knowledge so pretty much that leaves coolant to be the only thing leaking from the radiator.(they should have made better endtanks for the stock radiator)
