I have a TOYOTA Camry 1996 model and someone broke into my car by breaking the Drivers side Vent Glass on the rear side door.
I am planning to buy a part from the TOYOTA showroom but do not want to pay the exhorbitant service charge. Does nayone know of a Self Help or some internet resource that would guide me in the installation of the glass. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: TOyota Camry 1996 - Vent Glass
Not all these steps may be necessary to remove rear quarter glass.
Remove Power Window Switch - Use taped screwdriver to pry out switch. Remove Inside Handel Bezel - Use taped screwdriver to pry off bezel and pull bezel rearward to remove. Remove Door Trim: Remove 4 clips on sides of door panel Remove two screws - one is behind plastic screw cap Pry off door trim with taped screwdriver Pull trim upward to remove - disconnect electrical connector. Remove Inside Door Handle - Disconnect two links - Remove three screws Remove Service Hole Cover - (To align door glass, substitute bolt with washer for centering bolt) Remove Door Glass Run - Pull upward Remove Rear Door Belt Molding - Pry out clips from edge of weatherstrip and remove molding Remove Door Cushion Remove Door Glass Division Bar Remove Door Glass - Insert shop rag inside panel to prevent scratching glass Remove Quarter Window Glass with Weatherstrip - Remove by pulling forward. Assembly is reverse of disassembly |

Re: TOyota Camry 1996 - Vent Glass
Instead of a dealer, have you considered an auto glass shop. They are much cheaper - both parts and labor.
