New O2 Sensor...worked for 1K miles....now not working?
Hopefully someone can help me here.
After reading through this board, I got some great advice that seemed to help. Essentially my 91 Accord EX was "studdering" and had bad gas mileage along with the engine light going on. I checked the code and it came up "43"....so I changed the O2 sensor. Car then ran great! I was getting about 28 MPG.....car stopped "studdering" ....light didn't turn on. I had just started feeling good about myself for being able to fix it, when light went back on and car starts the studdering again. I drove the car for over 1K miles with the new O2 sensor before it started again. I put in a Bosch O2 sensor I picked up at NAPA for $75 (honda wanted $250!!). Do you think it is the sensor again? Maybe I didn't "screw" the sensor in deep enough? Car seems to smoke a litte when i first start, and when idling, the car "studders"...don't recall this happening with first O2 sensor. Also, I believe the first one went bad because of an oil leak (from the valve cover I have since replaced) that must have dropped oil on it. PLEASE HELP! |

Re: New O2 Sensor...worked for 1K miles....now not working?
Aww man I'm having exactly same problem with my 2000 Accord... The honda tech doesn't seems to want to help me through the fone... They wanted me to bring my car in X.x
I do have engine check light on, first they said O2 sensors are gone. I replaced both using Honda's OEM O2 sensors... reset the computer, the engine light came back on immediatly when I start the car.. My car runs lil cranky, it's like going to stall but it never happen and I do get pretty good milage from the gas... Dunno what to do... any expert out there?
