Just stuff...

So I had to take my wife to the hospital tonight for severe back pains, and got to reading Newsweek, and saw some interesting articles, and at the same time, I had the TV in the room on to MSNBC's Chris Matthews (Hardball), interviewing biographer Kit Kelley, who wrote "The Family - The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty".

They talked about some interesting things, which I won't get into here, as I'm sure people will have strong opinions about this controversial book, which I won't get into until I read it, but it did spark me into looking a couple of things up, and I found these:

~ A list:

Top 11 known arrests/crimes by the family who would restore honor and dignity to the White House

11. Dick Cheney's first DWI.

10. George W. Bush's DWI.

9. Barbara Bush, minor in possesson of alcohol.

8. Jenna Bush, minor in possession of alcohol (3 times).

7. Dick Cheney's second DWI.

6. Laura Bush's vehicular homicide, record expunged.

5. George W. Bush's arrest for larceny (stealing a Christmas tree, really!).

4. Jeb's 24 year old daughter Noelle arrested for fraud at 1:15 am Walgreen's drive-thru in attempt to obtain prescription drugs.

3. Jeb's son George arrested for breaking into girlfriend's home and malicious destruction of property.

2. Jeb's other son John (Jebby) arrested for violating Florida sodomy law in a mall parking lot during days after 2000 election.

1. Jeb's wife for smuggling undeclared purchases into the United States (fined thousands).

Bonus:

1. Dick Cheney's third DWI.

2. Whatever earned George W. Bush a one year sentence of community service in Houston.

3. Neil Bush fined for his "ethical disability" in Silverado savings and loan investigation. Cost to tax payers: 1 billion dollars (still paying interest), Cost to Bush: $0. The $50,000 fine was paid by a banking deregulation lobby.

~ A link (and a burning question):

~ More work for the Bush PR-machine:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's more, a LOT more, that I want to put up, but that should suffice for now, as I am waiting for a call to pick my wife up (Hospital's 5 minutes away).
Have fun dissecting this boys and girls, and I'm sure the loyal Bushites will find some way to bash me in the process of re-directing the discussion.
Fun.
Nothing to redirect. If the worst thing any politician ever did as a kid was get a DWI and community service then I'm fine with it. As far as the relatives of the family are concerned - it doesn't matter one iota. If people can look past Kennedy committing murder then they certainly can look past these transgressions.
I'm sure there are tons of things that Kerry, his snobby wife and the rest of his family have done as well. People make mistakes and grow from them. When the news made a big deal about Jenna Bush getting an M.I.P. I thought it was ridiculous. It's not like that's abnormal behavior for a late teen. As for Laura Bush's expunged vehicular homicide, never heard anything about it and don't know what the situation was. We know Kerry smoked pot, are we suppose to be taken back and appauled? No, b/c that's fairly normal behavior(at least from my point of view) for people going through adolesence. The past is the past and it can't be changed, this is the present. Let's live for now not for what happened back then.
The book I mentioned at the top of my post claims that GWB did cocaine at Camp David during his father's Presidency.
I have no way of proving (or disproving) this, among the other myriad damning claims the book makes, that's why I didn't talk about it then.
Also, I find your calmness (both of you) funny. I doubt if either of you would have been as calm, if the DWI had been Kerry's. It's the epitomé of the double-standard.
Anyhow, what about these? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5915972/site/newsweek/
and nobody bashes you or redirects the arguement.
Now we get.
You can stop with the baiting now. You're putting words in our mouth and setting up a situation that isn't there and then taking pot shots at it.
Actually, I wasn't even thinking of either you, or TexasF355F1, when I made that statement.
There were other, less "refined" members that came to mind.
And thanks for the analysis there, Dr. Phil. Yep, you sure took to the bait.
I wasn't baiting.
I was stating a fact.
Tell me I'm wrong about it.
Lets see - Jason I responded and you say "both of you" but you weren't talking about us.
So, what is your definition of the word "is"?
As for http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5915972/site/newsweek/ - Sweet!! More fuel to the fire. We need more people with their blood boiling. I think we're much better off with wild accusations flying left and right. On film. On the internet. In commercials. Blogs. Newspapers. Flyers. Hell, skywriting. Let it all out! It would be cool if someone found evidence that Cheney and Edwards are secretly lovers that burn babies alive. That'll put a nice finishing twist to the next few months. And THEN the next bit of fun can begin.
GW Bush stole a christmass tree? And Dick is an alcoholic? Looks like Beavis and Butthead grew up!
Actually it wouldn't bother me if Kerry had a DWI in the past, or if he were a cocaine user. It doesn't make him any less or more of a candidate. I don't really care if anyone uses drugs. Let people do what they want.
As for the article it's nothing new to me. This campaigning will just continue to get uglier.
Re: Just stuff...
Doesn't bother me one bit! The past is the past and we all have done things in the past we are not proud of. I perfer to judge people on the learning off thier mistakes than the mistakes.
I for one would make the Bush family look great from my long list of offenses but that doesn't take away from what I became.
I am sure Kerry has had so illegal activities in his past along with his cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters but they have nothing to do with the upcoming election as you try to imply.
But here is the part that disturbs me you are using kids to prove your point, kids are off limits IMHO. Kerry's wife and Bush's wife are off limits unless they do something stupid trying to help their mayes get elected.
BTW I have one more person that came to my area working for the elections which was Kerry's wife. She talked for 2 hours on health care.
