93 aftermarket struts. KBY or Monroe?

How do the two compare? KBY and Monroe. 93 Camry. Thanks.

I wish I could answer you directly but let me just say this. I was flat-spotting tires on my 92 Camry so I had the struts replaced. I wanted Bilstein but they don't make them for the 92 so I ended up with deciding between Monroe and Gabriel. I chose Gabriel because they were a little cheaper. Well, they solved the flat-spotting problem but the ride certainly was not improved at all. They were the Gabriel Gas Ryder struts (gas filled struts) and the ride and handling just weren't all that great. If you were ever considering the Gabriels too then I would recommend something else.

Re: 93 aftermarket struts. KBY or Monroe?

I had monroe struts put on my bro's 93 about a month ago and the ride was decent. But I haven't driven it since that day i drove it home. I have kyb gr-2's on my accord but i cant tell you how it is with comfort since my lowering springs have a pretty high spring rate it makes it bouncy.

both monroe and the gabriels provide similar rides. i think its a little stiffer than stock but i dont know because my struts were completely blown. handling is nice. as nice as it can be on a stock 92 camry le.
