Angry Broken windshield cost

Somehow a car (not sure which one, but doesn't matter) that I was following, had picked up a small golf ball size rock and hit my windshield (99' GCL). I was able to steer to the far right, so that the impact would not hit dead center, but it still make a crack on the mid-left section.

My question is what does a replacement windshield usually run? Any sort of problems to worry about on the replacement?

I'm driving out of town and will be back home in a couple of days so I won't have the time nor number to call around. I live in the So. CAL area.

Re: Broken windshield cost

In our insurance policies, the glass coverage has a separate deductable.

Many glass companies well waive the deductable to get the business.

Thanks for all for your replies. I ended up calling around in a area whereby you may not want to venture at night. But I got a quote and a name for $125.00. Sure enough, not only were they busy on a Saturday, but $125 out the door with new moldings, brand new windshield, a valid business, cash receipt, quick on the spot service, good workmanship.

Anyone needing their number, PM me....it's located in the San Fernando Valley (Pacoima). Btw, I'm in no way affiliated with them nor have any interest in their business.

I paid $236.52 on 10/30/96 [10 months old] and
$180 on 6/1/03.

Shop around, I had a quote of $450 the same day as I had the $180 installed at my house. Yes he came to me.
