i searched z31.com and it came up empty.... hope i'm not on my own..

Re: stereo stuff

update: well.. here i am some hours later, and this is what i've figured out... the power wire is shorted/broken somewhere so there's no power to it... probably just going to plug into the cig lighter cause that never gets used anyway... i'm thinking the previous owner had an amp for the speakers because some of the wires are missing, or just... yeah not there lol... i'm thinking i'll just either attempt to run new wire and hope everything works out from there... this is taking way way longer than it should tho

Re: stereo stuff

lmao, well that was an adventure... i wish i had a digital camera so i could have got some photo's of that rat's nest of wires and shite, as well as the entire front dash taken apart, including the glove box.. turns out the previous owner had an amp under the seat that ran the speakers, so after a few hours of hunting, continuity testing, and just plain stairing at the car swearing, i got it all figured out.. turns out i was looking for power in the wrong wire, so that was a kick in the pants to figure out after an hour and a half of looking for where the break was..

all in all, it was worth it... looks like it came that way from the factory, and now i know the behind the dash area like the back of my hand (have the cuts to prove it) sounds pretty good too, except there's a slight rattle coming from one of the speakers.. i'll get around to looking at it tomorrow or something..
