Project 89 CRX Si : B16A SIR 1 w/ Y1 trans
what's up guys - I just sold my 94 integra gsr 4 door for 6500. After paying of my loan, i purchased an 89 crx si for $1200. I just ordered a B16A SIR 1 w/ Y1 trans and PR3 ecu. I also have got the Place racing motor mounts coming - cuz the HASports were out of stock. I also just ordered from NOPI - (im running out of money) pacesetter cat back exhaust, pacesetter hi-flo cat, and a DC sports direct air charger short ram intake. my friend has done this exact swap before, and is charging me $400. the body is in ROUGH condition, but the interior is nice. she has 185000 on her and actually still runs good. it is a flat black, with a ghetto double yellow spray painted on racing stripe, which i am in the process of getting rid of. It desperately needs rust/dent removal and paint job. Please give me opinions and suggestions on anything regarding my project - thanx :licker:

honestly, I'd send the place moutns back and find a distributor online for the hasports. Place racing =
Its worth the wait, and the extra $$ to do it right. Also, did you get everything you need for the swap? HAsport's tech page has a list, as well as my site. www.phatwhippinCRX.20m.com It's also got a step by step B16a install, you may find it helpful.

Hey I have the place racing mounts and have had no probelms with them. Id stick with them! Just remember to remove the front motor mount bracket off the front cross member before installing engine and also do alittle tapping on the driver side frame rail and you'll be all set.

Very cool change of car mate! you are to be commended.
![]() First thing I would do is deal to the rust, dont worry about the dents and such, but get rid of the rust before you do the engine swap. Theres nothing worse than spending large amounts of time and money the mechanicals of a car only to have the body completly fall apart becuase you missed some rust. (Iv had this happen. )Once you've got the rust sorted it sounds like your pretty onto whats involved.

Not the Triumph 2500 Moppie? My 2500S rusted out around the wheelarches, all around and through the boot, around the ragtop sunroof and the bumper mounts
I was heartbroken when I got rid of it but the cancer started on the inside and worked through - by the time I really noticed it it was too expensive to fix

yah - the tips on the rust removal are good. I am currently working on the worst spot on the whole car...the sunroof. I removed four spots that were rusted through, with a wire wheel on a drill. I bondo'ed them and sanded them until they were smooth and flush w/ the rest of the car. last night, i removed one more spot along the driver's side edge of the sunroof, only to discover that the rust had somehow destroyed not only the metal, paint, and primer, but the wood underneath as well. that's when i realized that the sunroof was screwed. for the interum, i filled the whole with bondo (after digging all of that $hit out), and will sand it today. Then I will prime it with Bondo Red Oxide primer and paint it with flat black Rostoleum. This is a temporary solution, and I am thinking that in the future, I will most definitely need a new sunroof, any suggestions on where to get one from? Also, i belatedly realized that i neglected to order the custom shift linkage to my order @ JDMhondaparts.com. so, I tacked that on. My friend also told me that I need to get some 90-93 integra (no abs, manual trans) axles, and possibly a new throttle cable off of the same car....if not, he knows how to modify the one that comes with it. Autozone is the cheapest place that I've found the axles for ($60/each - exchange), since no junk yards in IL seem to have them. sorry, i talk kind of long......hopefully i will be able to get my hands on a digital camera, and give you guys some pics of my progress along the way - peace.
