1983 Cadillac firing order

i need to know the firing order for a 1983 cadillac devill. i cant rember where to put the spark wires on the cap. i need help bad engine 4.100 v8. i used the firing order in the chilton book still wont work.(18436572} 2468 1357 i dont know what i am doing worng

18436572 is correct. You might have the wrong distributor terminal as the #1 cyl.
Try removing the #1 spark plug (front one on the driver side) and turn the engine over by hand (Wrench on the crank pully bolt) until you feel the engine coming up to the TDC position on the #1 cyl. (you will feel the air being blown out of the open spark plug hole)

Pop off the dist cap and see there the dist rotr is pointing. The terminal its pointing to is for the #1 cyl. Then hook up the wires in sequence from there.
Keep in mind that rotor spins counter clockwise which is the opposite direction from most engines.

so every time i rebuild a distributor the #1 cyl must be at TDC. so aways look at the rotr too where is pointing too. sorry man my engish is not that good or my spelling

its me again i only change the coil and the distributor cap,rotor and moudule. the #1 cyl is at tdc. ok know the engine shakes alot and it smell like burnt oil its heating up fromthe inside what will cause this.
