2005 Caravan SXT DVD sound help needed

Just bought a 2005 Caravan SXT.Included with the options was a DVD system.The sytem works fine and plays through the speaker system in the car.I need to know how to get the headphones (cordless) to work.I bought and installed the batteries but when you turn them on,no sound comes from them and it continues to play through the speakers. The lights on the headphones light up.Anyone know what I need to do to get these things to work so my kids can listen and I not have to listen through the main speakers?

Tune the radio to 88.7 am

Let me know if you start experiencing front end moises too. My 2004 SXT sounds like theres a hammer dragging around in the front end and the dealer says its normal.
