Cars need three basic things to run:

Fuel (gasoline and air)
Spark
Compression

As long as you've got those three things happening in the right order, it should run. It cranks, so that's a start. We'll assume you've also got compression (there's not a big puddle of oil on the garage floor, right?). Check to make sure you're getting spark to the plugs. Just pull off a plug wire, stick a screwdriver in the end, and hold it about 1mm from the block while you have a friend crank over the car for a few seconds. You should be able to see the spark arc across from the plug to the engine block. Be careful doing this so that you don't shock yourself!!! It won't kill ya, but it'll hurt like a mother. Wear thick leather gloves and be careful what you hold on to. If you're getting spark, you must not have fuel. Fuel injected cars are a bitch to diagnose fuel problems. I'd turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump. If it's not doing anything, that could be your problem. Just check the spark first since it's quick and easy to test. Once you know what IS working, it'll help you narrow down what ISN'T.

He said that the car turns over. Unless it's turning over very, very slowly, the starter isn't the problem. Most cars have a fuse for the fuel system (not sure if the G does or not, haven't taken the time to check). Check your fuse box and make sure none of the fuses are blown. It's hard to gauge how long a fuel pump should last in a modern car. They are electric, not mechanical like in the 60's and 70's so you never know when they're gonna die. If you've got an import garage somewhere nearby (not an Infiniti dealer, just someone who works on Acura, Nissan, Toyota, etc) you could have them take a look. I'm not sure if the cars computer will register a bad/broken fuel pump. Somehow, i doubt it since, to my knowledge, there is no fuel pressure sensor on the G20. Turn your cars key to the "run" position and see if you can hear the fuel pump ticking. If you can't, that's most likely your problem.

If the fuel pump sounds like it's working, do yourself a favor and take your car to a *reputable* garage. They can probably diagnose and fix this problem fairly quickly and _relatively_ cheaply. When they fix it, ask them what the problem was and how they determined that. That way you'll get a little knowledge for your money, as well as a fixed car.

Check out the simple stuff. If you get in over your head, have a shop fix it for you and learn what you can from the experience.

Best of luck,
-Grant
