Hey, don't mistake me for a fan of Moore's. Watching him beat up on Chuck Heston (who was no longer head of NRA and, apparently, suffers from Alzheimer's) made me sick -- that soulless fat bastard should've followed it up with a segment involving Moore beating up a 7-year old girl.

As for Libel... no. Thats like me going to sue the makers of the Hulk for slandering the good name of the normal Bruce Banner, and sighting lies because humans cant turn green, get buff, and jump 4 miles when they get angered. Its theater, its a movie, its fiction based on fact.
Hulk is fiction -- F911 is a documentary. It is, sadly, (except for Moore's strained connect-the-dotsism) based entirely in fact. Now, Moore suggests (as subtly as a sledgehammer to the face) that Bush is in the pockets of the Saudis, which is ridiculous, because the Saudis were (quite rightly) loudest on the whole "Please God don't invade Iraq, you'll fuck it up for all of us" bandwagon.

And, of course, the small problem that a bunch of those Saudi 9/11 hijackers are in fact alive and well, and loudly protesting their innocence:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/1559151.stm

However, the corrupt dealings of the current administration make even Clinton's pale in comparison, and Moore details it quite handily. I don't like him or his views (can't really decide which I detest more), but I respect the feeling of outraged patriotism that runs through the entire flick.

911 is based on facts Using his logic, I can prove that ice cream is the reason that the Titanic sank.

Its a FACT that the Titanic didn't have enough ice cream to feed everyone in London. Now this is a fact. No debate about it. Now, if the Titanic had that enough ice cream to feed everyone in London, it would have been weighted down (and its important to note that the builder KNEW THIS ahead of time) the ship would have moved slower and avoided crossing paths with a certain iceberg.

Kennedy Mad At Film Maker Moore

Jun 4, 2004 12:18 pm US/Central
(AP) Rep. Mark Kennedy, a Republican, is a little annoyed at leftist film maker Michael Moore after an edited version of an interview between the two appeared in the trailer for Moore's upcoming U.S. release of the film "Fahrenheit 9/11."

"I was walking back to my office after casting a vote, and all of a sudden some oversized guy puts a mike in my face and a camera in my face," Kennedy said. "He starts asking if I can help him recruit more people from families of members of Congress to participate in the war on terror."

Kennedy said he told Moore that he has two nephews in the military, one who has just been deployed in the Army National Guard. But to Kennedy's annoyance, his response to Moore was cut from the trailer, which was released Thursday. His response was also cut from the film, according to a spokeswoman for the movie.

"The interesting thing is that they used my image, but not my words," Kennedy said. "It's representative of the fact that Michael Moore doesn't always give the whole story, and he's a master of the misleading."

A spokeswoman for the fiercely anti-Bush film, which has found a U.S. distributor after the Walt Disney Co. refused to release it, said she had no comment.

A transcript released by the film's producers shows Moore telling Kennedy that "there is only one member (of Congress) who has a kid over there in Iraq." He asks Kennedy to help him pass out literature encouraging others "to get their kids to enlist in the Army and go over to Iraq."

Kennedy replies, "I'd be happy to. Especially those who voted for the war. (As Kennedy did.) I have a nephew on his way to Afghanistan."

To which Moore replies: "I appreciate it."

Anne Mason, Kennedy's spokeswoman, said Friday that Kennedy now has one nephew in the military and another one who got out of the Navy since the Moore interview. In addition, Kennedy's cousin's son recently completed his military service.
