my fuel gauge on my 1990 lumina went bad and i needed to replace the whole cluster. i figured i would replace it with one from a 1990 lumina euro because it has a tach and the speedo goes higher. will this work without much modification. somebody told me it would work but the speedo would be off a little bit. is this true also?

Re: Lumina Instrument cluster swap
if your car and the euro both had the same final drive ratio in the trans, then your speedo should be ok, but sometimes they change the position of the wires in the harness depending on if it has the guage cluster or not. I would cut the electrical connector for the guages out of the euro donor car to make sure the different colored wires are in the same order as your car. Also, you'll have to change the sensors in the engine for any that your car has and idiot light and the euro has a guage.
