Transmission mystery

my 94 zj 5.2l transmission will dissengage off and on, but mainly when i slow down or stop. However, when i bring in and they hook it up to the computer, they see nothing wrong. they then test drive it and it drives fine. It drives solid for about a week and then it starts doing it again. I had just replaced my transfer case and drive shaft prior to this happening. so those are brand new. They said my clutch is fine and they didn't see and crap coming out that would indicate a transmission failure. any advice would be great

Re: Transmission mystery

What kind of transmission? auto or manual
What do you mean disengauge? does it grind, does the stick pop out of gear or does the thing just stop motivaing.
did the problem exist before you put in the new transfere case?

Do this

You have a problem with either the input or the output speed sensor.........change them both.....they do not cost much and go bad quite often. They are located in the side of the transmission.......

Is this something that is pretty easy to do? I have just parked my jeep for the past month and have been driving my commuter car. I will probably pick up a haynes repair of my own and look it up. thanks for the replay.

Re: Transmission mystery

I dunno what it could be, would someone please send me a pic of the Vacuum Harness from a 93 or 94 5.2L V8, I need a pic of the harness that connects to the EGR Valve, Intake Manifold(connects to both sides), Fuel Pressure Regulator, Throttle Body, Purge Solenoid, etc....., I DO NOT NEED THE HALF THAT GOES TO THE EVAP CANISTER, BUT EVERYTHING THAT CONNECTS TO THIS HARNESS (EVAP CANISTER).
