Can be done, but the problem I ran into in the past with other vehicles is getting enough torque on the tension. I just had my belt replaced in my 97 Grand Cherokee at a local mechanic at a cost of $94.00. Was worth it to me as I was out of town and my wife had it done while she waited. Think she was only there about half an hour.

ANy car i have evry changed the serpentine belt on has been extremely easy. Took 5 minutes on my 99 GC. You need to find the belt tensioner-then get a ratchet or breaker bar (place on nut in center of pulley)and lift up on the tensioner (spring loaded), remove the old belt and put the new one on. Make sure there is a picture of the correct belt route, if noy make a drawing before you take the old on off. EASY JOB THOUGH, Goog luck and let me know if you have any questions.

I agree, it is easy, just look under the hood and on the ledge, it will have a picture of the belt routing and the location of where the tensioner is.

I changed my Serp Belt a few weeks ago, it is really easy. if u have a V8 it has a Auto adjust Belt tensioner. and uses a 15mm wrench on the bolt and turn clockwise to loosen the tension and removee belt. Install is oposite, that is if u have the V8, the I6 use a manual adjust belt tensioner located under the right hand side of the power steering pump.
