Re: Rough Everything

When the IAVC isn't working it can do a lot of funky crap I'm not quite sure how to explain it but I know from personal experinces that things casues a lot of problems. Also like I said the TPS and PTU could be a serious issue because if the connection on the ptu is bad then sometimes the car might not even start. TPS because if its sending the wrong throttle information to the ECU then the ecu in turn changes the duty cycle of the injectors and if it dumps to much fuel then hell bet crazy bad gas millage if it doesn't dump enough to the point where it almost denates then the car retards the electronic timing to a max of 5 degree's..

Re: Rough Everything

i understand what he i saying. i usually get about 17-19 mpg. it hasn't done it in the past couple days, it like goes in cycles. i looked today and the insulation that surrounds wires has cracked and almost slide off the connection on the TPS (at least what i think is the tps). i will take a closer look tomorrow.

Re: Rough Everything

okay, here is a pic of my tps (at least what i think is the tps), i have circled the crack i am talking about.

now, on the way home from work today, it would idle at about 1800 rpm. it has done that one other time. i got home and turned the car off. an hour later i am about to leave to get pizza, and i turn it on and it is rough. so i am like damn it. so i go to disconnect the tps and while in the process of doing that, it stops being rough. i'm just like, wtf. so i wiggle the cracked wire and then it starts idling at 1800 rpm again. then i wiggle it some more, and it goes back down to 800 rpm. so i think i now found the problem.
