Question Audio

I'm kind of confused on what to do as far as installing a new deck into my truck. I have a 89 chev, 3500 extended cab. Because you have the radio and volume controls located just to the right of the steering wheel. The tape player is located dead center in the console. A normal deck won't fit in the whole in the radio and volume control spot. I want to put it in the center whole but Don't know what I would do with the other controls. I'm just basicly lost on what to do here and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Audio

As far as the center part of the dash there is a kit you can get that will replace the entire center part where the cassette is located. You can buy them to match the color of your dash. All that is really required is that you have to pop out the air vents. BE CAREFUL when doing so because the clips that hold in the vents are notorious for shooting out and good luck finding them. The second part to the right of the steering wheel, you have to remove the bezel that goes around those controls. I think its like 3-4 T25 torx screws. With that gone you can buy a "cubby" that will fill in the hole. Aside from that, all you have to do is remove the factory tuner box located under the dash, connect the new harnesses and you're all set. Hope this helps a little.

Re: Audio

The companies that I know of are Metra or American International. Both kits are pretty easy to use and you can normally pick them at places like Circuit City, Best Buy or most local stero shops.
