CSC is the best overall product for stripping chrome. It usually removes the clearcoat that is underneath the chrome too. Old vintage chrome strips real fast. I stripped some 30 year old MPC chrome in about 30 minutes in some old CSC.

Re: an easy was to take off chrome

For removing the plated chrome of plastic parts the best thing is bleach. Just put the parts in overnight and the chrome will be disolved off in the morning. Sometimes it will leave a clear undercoat that some manufacturers use to bond the chrome to the plastic. That will have to be removed just like paint. Seems Revell are bad for this goo, others like Fujimi are no problem.

CSC is Castrol Super Clean. It is only availabe in the USA AFAIK.
EDIT: Doh! beat me to it Bugz.

Re: an easy was to take off chrome

I am using bleach. It is awesome, easy to find in most household, and may be the most environmental friendly among other alternate methods. It tooks about 15mins to strip the chrome on the exhaust.
