Variety of questions, lol, well a few

Hey, so my first questions: If i do the sr20 engine swap, what else will i have to change out? If I missed a nother topic or guide, please post a link, thanks.
Second question; While looking at 240sx's online I saw ones with speedometers ranging from 110 to 120, was this just like some production malfunction or something?
Third; the se version of the 240, whats the deal with that? um, what is the difference with that and the um, ones without any acronyms, lol.
Forth; lol, becoming more questions as i type this out. Um, any significant difference between the fastback and the coupe models? I happen to like the rear end of the fastback.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Variety of questions, lol, well a few

well, first question. There are many online things to look at. http://www.heavythrottle.com/ has a good swap site. And there is always the Sport Compact Car article you can find on their webpage. Second question: The 89-90 speedo has 115mph, 91-94 has the 110mph, and I dont know what the s14 has(95-98). This doesnt even include the digital dash. Third, the SE had power windows, doorlocks, mirrors, alloy wheels, and 5-speeds and autos had cruise. this is all S13s, dont know S14s. Fourth, the coupes seem to be rarer to me, dont know the actual pruduction percentages. Seemed to be the opposite in Japan, I saw way more Silvias (coupes) than 180sx's(hatches). Maybe because all 180sx's came in turbo. The coupe has the digital dash and has the trunk. And I think it is missing 100lbs.

I thought the 89-90 240s had less power. Or am I just putting too much faith into the speedometer?

Re: Variety of questions, lol, well a few

i always thought the coupe would be heavier than the hatch cuz the coupe seemed to be longer to me.. the 89-90 240s came with the sohc engine (ka24e) with 140hp and the 91-94 came with the dohc with 155hp (ka24de).. i dunno why they would change the speedo to less when the car comes with more power

It doesn't matter if they changed the speedo or not. Each car only goes 112mph. If that bothers you, go to www.lsauto.com They have a 180mph speedo but it won't do you any good considering after you get rid of the speed limiter, you get a nasty fuel cut at 120. Plenty of ways to fix it, but I haven't found a cheap one yet.

Re: Variety of questions, lol, well a few

the basic difference between the coup and the hatsh (if u like to do canyons or drift) is the stiffness of the car. i have a coup and man does it crumbl when i take hard turns with it. i had to spend more then $300 worth of rollcage to get the same feeling of a coup. keep in mined that i have a sunrouf. yeah the coup is heavier due to the large glass in the rear but if u rmove it and put the plast thing insted (clear plastic that u can get from homedepot ) then it will way less. i also gutted teh whole thing so it is a bit lighter. i like coups with layzy look. it is all a preference, exept for the strength of the body.

HICAS is a version of 4 wheel steering. I personally have never driven a 240 with HICAS but I've heard it's bad for drifting but someone nice for regular driving... but i can't verify that. it's just what i heard. I think KingCarm has HICAS on his 240, if indeed he does, you could ask him if he's still around...
