Re: Silverado 1500 won't turnover
Many things can cause your problem!
try moving your gear selector while attempting to start the truck (if you have a truck that is) you might have a bad park-neutral swich? -Mike |

Re: Silverado 1500 won't turnover
Look at your seloniod on the starter, that will keep you from starting. To check, with the starter disconnected, have a buddy hold the key in the "start" position, Check for power on the smaller wire going to your seloniod. If you have power, bad selonoid, if not look at your nuetral safety switch.

Re: Silverado 1500 won't turnover
Thanks gtmud and mike. Appreciate the quick replies. I'll try those suggestions when I get the truck pulled off the rocks so I can get under it. I'm new to the forum and to Chevolet trucks so I appreciate the help.

Re: Silverado 1500 won't turnover
Thanks again folks. I had a shade tree mechanic come over. He used a hammer and screwdriver to see if the starter was on a dead spot. No luck. I reminded him that there was a "starter relay" in the electrical center. Took it out, put it back in, tapped it with a hammer handle. Truck started several times. I'm going to get a spare relay to have around. Also clean all the contacts. Thanks, I'll be back, probably.
