00 1500 series died on hwy / still dead
i have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 series. Last week it died unexpectedlly on the highway with no warning. i had it towed and after $140.00 they told me it was the fuel pump since there was no fuel pressure. So $400.00 later i had it replaced and the truck still wouldnt start. After taking off the negative battery cable the truck started and ran briefly. Once it died again we figured maybe the fuel filter was clogged so we replaced it. The truck has only ran once since then and it was right after we took out the VCM (next to battery) and then put it back in. 100 miles later it died and i had it towed to chevy. It has been there for 4 days now and they have no idea whats wrong with it. They cant get any codes from the truck. They are suggesting that i replace the vcm , but there is no garuntee that it will fix the problem. If anybody has any ideas please feel free to let me know anything. btw truck shows fuel pressure and fire only sometimes. i thought maybe the fuel regulator but mechanic says its fine.
