Rattling sound after race

I've got a 2001 GA GT and today I raced against my friend who has a 97 GT in a clean, fun 0-60 race. We both have a few mods, I smoked him regardless. After we were done though, when I was driving I noticed a weird rattling / scraping sound coming from the front passenger side. I thought it might've been a belt or something, it didn't sound good at all. I pulled over, turned the car off, and when I turned it back on, it was gone. I just hope it doesn't come back. Has anybody else had anything like this happen after driving their GA really hard? Or does anyone know what it might've been. Thanx

Re: Rattling sound after race

sounds like you might have partially thrown your serp belt. When you shut the car off and restarted it, the tensioner slacked and tehn luckily caught the belt again straight. AT high rpm, the spring loaded tensioner can get to oscillating, causing the belt to get out of alignment. Lucky for you , it didn't come off and straightened itself out after you shut it off and re-started
