boost seems pretty high for 93 octane unless you're using an alky setup.
i use the old turbolink and watch for O2 volts as well as degrees of knock. i need to run a fuel pressure gauge so i can see it at wot (need base setting plus 1 psi for each lbs of boost) in your case you need 43 + 21 = 63 lbs of fuel pressure. is your fuel pump hot wired? before the alky kit i was getting knock at 18 lbs of boost with straight 93 octane gas.

Re: too slow for money spent 14s?

i am not using the alky setup (alchohol inject. ?) and you are right about the boost it should be lower my mistake and i always put in 94 octane. The readings on the 02 volts should be in what range and how many degrees of knoch is acceptable (fuel pump not hot wired that is next) is the alcohol injection setup expensive ?hard to do? what kind of time improvements on average? thanks for the help

i think o2 volts should not go below .760-.780 i believe (hipsi please chime in here cuz i'm going from my shaky memory) i'm thinking my alcohol injection is keeping this number hi for me, i really need to check my actual fuel pressure. lots of people tune for a very small degree of knock on the shift points but others say no knock is best. the alky kit was a SMC kit around $270 if i remember right (gotta work on this memory thing!) not cheap but what a rush it adds. there are other kits out there (Razor's kit comes to mind) as well as instrucions for a do it yourself kit. the first pull on alky with 22-23 lbs of boost really, really gets your blood flowing. check out the forums at t6p.com, turbobuick.com and last but not least turbobuicks.com. check out the alcohol forums for all you need to know. installation is a breeze but make sure you are in a tuning mood so you dont get carried away to start. i havent ever been to a track or on a dyno so i cant give you any numbers there. think i heard that every lb of boost is good for 10 hp???
maybe i'm hearing things as well. good luck

Re: too slow for money spent 14s?

i was wondering if the alky kit is reliable and fairly consistent. It sounds to good to be true. i will check out those web sites. if the o2 readings are out alot should i just change the sensor? I wont be able to test for a while my electric brake motor is gone but i am writing this stuff down for when i do go out for a drive. thanks

i'm sure hoping the alky kit is reliable!! if it doesnt spray when i'm at 20+ lbs of boost , then i'm going to learn how to change head gaskets (at the very least!!)
if your O2 volts are out of wack you need to figure out why. if they drop off when you are at WOT below the .780 or so then you need more fuel
i have a walbro 307 pump hotwired and know that some vendors sell the next step up (340) for about the same price. nice thing about adding alcohol is that it acts as extra fuel. it does seem too good to be true.
i also added a heated O2 sensor awhile back. probably could just of put in a new non-heated one lots cheaper. i think you need to check your O2 cross checks on the scan tool to see if yours is getting lazy. it never hurts to put a new one on (same goes for plugs, wires, etc.) its all about the basics and the combination. i just try to mimic what others are succesfully doing and avoid others pitfalls (let them change the head gaskets)
