All motor vs. FI (carried from 'spoon engines')

Okay, pondering putting some money in my car, and there seems to be two different camps as to how to go. Camp A has most of the compact performance people in it- these are people who put on turbochargers, superchargers, NOČ (yes, i know that should be subscript); that sort of thing.

Camp B prefers to pull every tiny bit of power they can from an engine, without doing any forced induction or Nitros-Oxide. This is also known as "all motor".

There are upsides and downsides to both- FI can be less expensive on some engines, all motor can tend to be more reliable, etc. etc.

What I'd like to do is build a very strong, reliable engine, more reliable then the stock one (IF that's possible), but I don't want to discount the idea of a turbocharger or supercharger in the long run. There are some important differences between an all-motor build, and a FI build. I need info about those differences. Also, anyone who's had experiance with both, which do you prefer?

Re: All motor vs. FI (carried from 'spoon engines')

Both are fine if planned wisely and installed intelligently. As long as quality upgrades are chosen (you get what you pay for) and precautions taken, there is no reason you can't have a reliable NA or FI car. For example, if you're going to boost the living hell out of a car while running weak stock internals and expect it to survive long, you're pretty stupid...

I don't know if you can classify NA cars as "better" or "worse" than cars with forced induction- each has ups and downs. It's a matter of personal preference and personal expectation.
