Question Back-up Lights and cruise control

I have no back-up lights and cruise control on my 93 grande cherokee larado. Are they somehow related? Could it be the trans safety switch? If so, does anyone know where I can get one? TJP

Re: Back-up Lights and cruise control

Hey ZJenvy242,
Nice try. Thanx to your faulty advice I went to the link provided and followed the directions. Now, instead of just having no back-up lights, I have to replace the $300.0 Nuetral safety switch. You should not be allowed to give advice to anyone, even if they need to put batteries in a flashlight.
I wish I could bill you the $300.00.
Now that your method has ruined the switch, my cherokee will not start at all reguardless if it is in park or nuetral. You should be kicked outa here!!

Re: Back-up Lights and cruise control

Hey JeepDriver58!!!!

Not sure where things went wrong for you. The instructions are straight up.

ZJenvy was giving you some information with the best of intentions. It is obvious to me that the proceedure worked for at least the one who went to the work of making the directions.

How you use the information is up to you.

Sorry for the expences you incured while attempting to follow the directions but there are enough guys on this board that absolutly know what they are doing that miss-information would be dealt with appropriatly.

hope you have a better day tomorrow.

JD

Re: Back-up Lights and cruise control

Sorry for the nasty reply. I apologize if I insulted anyones integrity. I was frustrated and disappointed. ZJenvy242, I apologize to you especially. Sometimes we tend to use a bad situation to create one that becomes even worse. Please dis-reguard anything I said, and I hope I can correct the wrong impression of myself that I created. Thank you for your understanding.

Re: Back-up Lights and cruise control

Most likely not related, check for a vacuum line off or broken going to the cruse modulator on the passenger firewall. check for fuses and power at the sockets for the back up lights.

I'm deeply sorry that procedure did not work for you, It was never my intention to screw you over or anything of that nature. I was actually trying to help you save that $300 because it may have been unnecessary. As to your heated reply, myself having gone through similar situations, can understand your anger and venting and thanks for the apology.
