ka24de turbo

alright, ive been doin some research on the 92 s13 with the stock ka24de motor, and apparently there is no turbo kit for it, however they do make them for the s14 models. then i called around to the motorsport stores in my area and found a place that does custom turbos for 6g out the door cost, installed and everything, what do you guys think, 320 at the wheel hp, plus if I pay an extra 500 they will do the engine upgrades to boost the hp to 400hp at the wheel. also does anyone know anyone that will do a manual transmission conversion and for how much.

Re: ka24de turbo

for 6500 i hope they do a full engine re-haull, low comp pistions, rods, ect, and fuel managment, for 6g they better have all the parts for a 400hp motor, more info please, but with a 92 u need to look into a re-build and good fuel managment, and a decent size turbo like a t04 .68a/r... well more info will be good but dont get ripped off..

Re: ka24de turbo

For 6g's what all does it come with and what are they doing for 500 bucks to the engine. for 320hp 6g's seems a bit high to me. I'm planning on making my own turbo kit for about 2000 bucks that should get like 300 to the wheels but that does not include labor. or any internal work but hey If it comes with a tec3 (or other stand alone) and they will tune it real nice then It sounds fine and if they will rebuild it with forged internals for 500 definitely do it, I mean rebuild if you go for the other. Just my 2 cents

Re: Re: ka24de turbo

its b/c i got turbo hehe

also 300whp is hard to achive on a stock bottom end ka motor.. i think 270 is the most ive see with a stock bottom end.. i mean tat2 has a turbo 240sx with stock bottom end and all supporting mods and olnly makes 250+whp and from what i heard 8psi is about the limit of boost to run with a stock bottom end.. but good luck and let us know how it turns out

Re: ka24de turbo

I've always heard that KA stock could handle like 300+ rwhp just fine.

Re: Re: ka24de turbo

i guess it depens on the turbo size bigger turbo less psi to make the same hp.. just sacrificing spool up time but to the guy who posted up i suggest a re-build if hes gona boost b/c of the age of his motor..

Re: ka24de turbo

6gs is a rip-off. I have a complete system I pieced together with pretty good parts for 2gs. T04B, revhard mani, turbonetics evolution 35mm, greddy type s, vortech FMU, walbro 255, pvc intake pipe. I'm only running 5psi for now, but a FMIC and S-AFC w/SRs are on the way. So yea, you can get a hella-good kit with an engine rebuild for a lot less than that. Shit, that is the price of top of the line HKS kits. Oh and if you don't understand how turbos or systems work, those guys will probably rip you off. 0.02
