2000 t&c interior gas smell

Chrysler assures me that there is no part of the gas tank inside the van, although every time gas is put in, and not necessarily filled, heavy gas smell inside car for 1 to 2 days. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Re: 2000 t&c interior gas smell

I am not sure about you year T& C but you should check you recall notices to see if yours has had any thing to do with the fuel fill tube or any thing to do with the fuel system. I know that the 96,97,98 and I think the 99s were recalled for this not sure about the 2000s. My 96 had this problem as you are having and the dealer fixed the it under the recall notice and it had been done once already. With 94,000 miles on it. No more smell. Just a helpful hint until you get to fixing it do not top off tank once the filler stops don't put anymore in. I had found that the smell goes away much quicker that way. Hope that this helps you.

There is a recall on this fuel leak. It's dangerous so get it fixes right away. I had mine fixed the with the "short fix " first,,it still leaked and i had to have the fuel lines replaced.
