what kind of intake

Do they make a cold air intake for a 93 240. If so who makes it. Also, I was wondering which brand of intake is the best. I ahve heard good things about the pop charger and the hot shot intake system. i jsut wanted to get some feedback from people who used them and what they thought about them.

Re: what kind of intake

get a k&n cone air filter, takes out that airbox. that's pretty much good enough, no need to get the whole piping

but i thought the whole point of "cold air" intake was to relocate the intake away from the hot engine air to the cooler air.....then how come Greddy and HKS just give you a bigger filter that attachs to your orignal intake which is right next to the engine....doesnt that kinda defeat the purpose???...or am i missing something?

INJEN makes a regular kit to the MAF and then another piece you can buy to make it a CAI I believe. If you want a CAI i think that is your only route.

Most of these are designed for the SR20 or a turbo engine. Cold air intake is pointless really because the compressor is going to heat the air up anyways. Turbo guys usually don't worry about the intake air being cold, they worry about the compressed air being cold. Hence, intercooler. Cold air intake is pretty much what posers say to look cool.

AEM & Injen make the relocated CAI. People think the piping will heat up and negate any effects, but the material is a pretty good insulator and the air is moving too fast to suffer "heat soak." With the piping, you're also getting a wider, less restrictive path.
