Dash Resonant Frequency at 1700 rpm idle?

I recently discover, in both G20s that I had and have the previlege of owning, that while warming up after a long soak in the cold weather and when idle at 1700 rpm, the dash shakes (resonates) and makes a lot of humming noise. The noise can be dissipated if you feather the throttle to a higher rpm. Has anyone experience this similar problem while warming up their car? Given this incident occurs on both G20s, can this be a small imperfection from Infiniti? Is this typical?

NOPE not me, but my airbag and fresh air intake, for the cabin (not the electrical fan) sometimes make a little noise!

Here in Denmark we have had one incident of an engine that from the factory was out of balance, but on that car we could also feel it while driving.....

Yep I have the same problem but it only seems to happen in cold weather, mostly when it's below 40 or so. Although I did find that one such rattle was the little metal ends on the owners manual vibrating against the top of the glovebox, so I just flipped over the manual and no more problems. The dash thing I still can't figure out but like you said it's only at around 1700 rpm so it go's away when I start driving.

Yup, the noise generates specifically from the right vent in the middle console at 1700 rpm. And yes, only happens during cold weather. During summer it also happens but very unnoticeable. If you press down hard on the vents facet, the noise is lessen. I wonder if this is due to some piping behind the vents. There gotta be a way to fix this problem.

Yup, I get the same noise too during cold weather - once the car is warmed up, the noise is gone. It is annoying, but, my friend's $60K mercedes CLK430 has a dash rattle too. I guess the bottom line is manufacturing processes aren't perfect.

damn, had rattles everywhere...left vent, center vent, behind the instrument cluster...which I fixed...then i get ticking noises from the front winshield area... goes away in 40F+ weather.

1700rpm's is the same rpm I had those vibrations. checkout the maintenance forum to see how i did the fixes.
