3sgte

I have a 91 mr2 na. will a 3sgte with a top mount intercooler fit and work. can it be relocated to the factory location. Will it bolt to the na tranny. Anyone that has completed the swap have any hints or what to watch out for. any help would be great

Re: 3sgte

I would be best to buy a "Rear clip" ... they import and sell these from Japan, you would get the 3SGTE engine, tranny, ECU and axles. Basically everything yo uneed to do the swap.

Yes, the 3SGTE bolts to the NA tranny ... that doesn't mean that you would want it there. The gearing realy is not ideal for the power band of the 3SGTE.

The top mount IC is usually found on the Celica ~ assuming that is the engine you are talking about, there will be other differences (like where the coolant lines are).

Good luck with your project.

Im taking your advice and am getting a rear clip. Is there a good manual with wiring diagrams. Where can i find it. Is the jdm wiring the same as a usdm turbo wiring. Where can i get the toyota shop manuals? How about gaskets and seals. are they the same as usdm 3sgte motors. The motor should be here in a week or two. So any help would be great. Thanks for any help
