hey guys i owned a celica and i owned a GSR and i would definatley go with the gsr. Gsr has more torque. It might not on the papers but on the overall power ban intgra will prevail.

Re: celica vs. gsr

man. geezer's celica and GSR must've had problems since they had a power "ban" lol. it's just too bad the power band didn't kick in when it was supposed to haha.
reading the threads in here i can't help but to be painfully struck and dissappointed that the celica gts has that much power. that sucks. who could possibly like that better than the GSR though? GSR all the way!

Re: celica vs. gsr

Here's an idea, look at the post dates before you post in a 7 month old thread.

Oh, for god sake . Both are good cars damn. I own a 2000 Celica GT-S 6 speed for all you people that will later ask if I have an auto. The GSR is fast, and have tooken a ride in my buddy's a couple time's. I used to see tail lights all the time when I owned my SPEC V. Also to clear it up, The GT-S has fuel cut off at 8200rpm's . Has 180hp (and for the people that dont know) with 167hp to the wheels. At around 6000rpms we have whats called "LIFT" (VVTL-i....VARIABLE VALVE TIMING LIFT INTELLEGENCE) in every gear, which is like VTEC, but stronger. Once "LIFT" hits Its like hitting the nitrous button in a GSR. The GT-S has 140hp but when at 6000rpms another 40hp gives the GT-S a boost. Are you following me so far. . The 02 model is the only year they made fuel cut off at 7200rpms, which makes the GT-S a little slower then others. The GT-S has for a stock vehicle, incredible high end power because, like I said, "LIFT". but lacks power in the low end becuase of its 130TQ. Hopefully this will help you guys think just a little different about a DAMN GT-S, especiallyl the guy who is asking if he will win. "DONT RUN HIM AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS". pretty much dont do it from a roll. If you have a good launch, and take off before him try to stay as far ahead as you can, because no matter what, even if he is an ok driver the engine will go into "LIFT" and will soon catch up and pass. Hopes this helps
