Cool Greetings! 91 MR2 owner - who needs a lot of help.

Hi everyone! I've spent a couple of days reading all the great information and questions everyone has posted about Toyota MR2s.. It really does help to talk to people who know their stuff.

My MR2 story..
1991 Toyota MR2 - all stock
Non-Turbo (which I'm perfectly happy with)
Manual Transmission

How I got it:
After a car accident, I needed a car and wanted something sporty and fun. I definitely chose the right car, in the 1991 MR2, but later found that there were hidden problems that I didn't know to ask about. Buyer beware has run through my mind ever since. The car is now sitting in my driveway with a blown head gasket, puddle of oil under the rear main, and some other minor issues that make it almost impossible to fathom affording to keep.. It's for sale right now on autotrader.com and no one wants it because I'm asking too much for it. I don't really want to get rid of it but don't know where to begin to fix it.

My quest on this forum is to ask about:
Engine swap recommendations for a non-turbo
Inexpensive mods that improve perfomance (such as adding a strut bar, etc.. )
How severe certain problems are (such as emergency break not working, etc.. )
and general questions such as waying the expense of rebuilding the engine vs. swapping it out.

I'm sure i'm going to learn alot on this forum..

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN PAYING 3K FOR A 1991 BLACK MR2 WITH NOTHING WRONG WITH IT EXCEPT THE GUTS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I KNOW IT'S HIGH, BUT I LOOOOOOVE THIS CAR....
