305/70R16's (BFG AT/KO's) on a 2000 4x4

Anyone ever tried making these work w/o a lift? I see that they are basically the same height as 285/75R16's, but the section width is almost an inch wider. Would a different than stock backspacing help prevent rubbing?

To be honest, I don't think they will rub much. I've installed some 305'70 Goodyear ATS on a 2001 2500, and they barely rubbed the air dam a little when turned fully to one side..if you trim the air dam I think they'll work. You can also asjst your torsion bars to compensate if they do scrub badly.

why do my 285/75/16 rub on the inside, not the airdam?

I currently have 285 BFG all terrains. 2 Weeks ago I bought a set of 255/75/R16 bfg mud terrains. These tires are mean looking. Havent put them on the truck yet. The only differences between the 285s is the 255s are taller and not as wide.
