Ok I need some fairly cheap coilovers and need suggestions

Ok guys the deal is this ..I bough tmy car like 2 years ago lowered found out that they had I believe heated springs and also had uneven tires which made it set a bit different as far as height..well then I went and got just four sock tires put on and it kind of lowered the whole car a little more..well now today I hear a small click so I get down to check the CV boot and sure enough its torn so now Im gonna have to fix it but while Im down there I look up in the fender well on the passenger side and see that a piece of metal,I assume a body mount, is almost worn through whats left of the plastic guard...since having a piece of metal that close to my tire kind of scares me Im going to go ahead and raise the car up a little....so my delimna is that Im poor but have to do this and have to do it fast as I have a famil and this is our onyly car at the moment and since Im doing the CV joint Imma do the springs...

I know cheaper coilovers I guess ride like crap ,Ive never had coilovers before, but in this situation I do need something cheap but I dont want to just abandon my lowered look and Im not a fan at the same time of like a 1 inch drop ..I think my car was originally lowered 2 in front and back but the back was always a bit higher which I didnt like so I was gonna do a 2 " in the front and 3 in the back and adjust the camber in the back...so any ideas would be great as Im not to up on what coilover are should I say bearable and what arent

thanks

u could go to a junkyard and get stock springs for now and save upa nd wait till u have time and get a good suspension setup. u might also considere lowering springs there afortable and most give u a stock ride quality. i wouldnt spend my money on some cheap coilover. ground control are some nice coilovers tough but not that cheap.

You can get a set on ebay for about $75 including shipping. I've talked to some people that have bought them, and they've all said they work fine.

Here's one:

I have koni shocks and neuspeed springs they still surprise me very good combo. but thats some $ best bet is to do what snowman said go to the junk yard and get u somthing for now save up and then make the bigger move. 1st things 1st, Safety and if the metal is freaking u out then raise it up to stock. but a sum what cheap coilover that rides ok is skunk2 been in one car with it and it was not bad. good luck to you man

Re: Ok I need some fairly cheap coilovers and need suggestions

next month imma gettin my tein ss suspension kit... cost quite a bit but worth it in my opinion... but... dont go for cheap coilovers cause it might just cause more damage in the long run.. had a friend who got em cheap brand and a few months later it somehow damaged the the shocks and i guess one of em rubbed the side of his front right so much that it made a hole in it.. i agree with snowman2005.. get stock springs then that way you know how much u need to lower it from stock height by buying the right size lowering shock.. like you said earlier the springs were heated so that means they might have just heated the fronts more than the rear.. which is why u have the lower front and higher back and it could also have been heated unevenly so u never know.. thats why start from stock and work ur way from there

jus curious as to how lowering of the car caused the motor mount to rub through the engine guard?? Lowering your car shouldn't change the height of the motor or the wheel well; only the car height and camber. maybe i misoverstand you!
