I don't doubt that's true!
Likely, maybe not?
But remember, there is a lot of rotten eggs in any kind of profession.
A cop can be tempted to use his attority to his one benefit.

Ya, I doubt that the Koenigsegg story is true. I think that the highest proven speed during gumball was 227mph in a Yellow Enzo during this years gumball. I posted the story with pictures in the Enzo/F60 Forum.

besides, it wouldn;t be accurate. A GPS reading would be far more reliable, speedometers (if not properly calibrated) get less and less accurate the quicker you go

Give or take a few MPH, that is still incredibly fast for a public road. I doubt that the actual speed was drastically different from the one reported. I would think that Ferrari would have the technology to put a fairly accurate speedometer in their $750,000 car.

Well the $100,000+ modified Porsche 911 Twin Turbo I rode in some time ago certainly had the technology to have an accurate speedometer as well, however, the analog one was reading about 205-206mph whereas the digital one built into the car's trip computer was only registering 196mph at the same exact time. That's a 10mph difference, or 5% which is fairly substantial I think.

At higher speeds, most analog speedometers do indeed register higher than the actual vehicle speed for some reason. This is true for most cars which is why the speedometer gauge can not be relied upon for a truly accurate figure.

196mph was still pretty fast though...

True, but keep in mind that the info we are going off is from the Enzo's digital speedometer. Just look at the picture in the forum I linked to. You just said yourself that those are pretty accurate.

Like I said, give or take a few MPH, that is still very fast for a public road. It's proabably the fastest speed ever reached during Gumball. That was the point that I was trying to make.
