Loud exhaust ticket

I just got a ticket for my exhaust being heard from 50+ft from the CHP. It doesn't have a price or anything, just a court date. Is there any way I can fight it?

It's not a ticket bro, it's just a summons. You have to show proof to the court that u have fixed the exhaust system and then they will dismiss the case. i got one a few months ago. All i did was went down to my friends shop and he made me a receit saying that the exhaust was fixed. I braught that receit to court and showed them it and then they dismissed the case. i spent like maybe 30 seconds in court when they called me up.
In New York, the cops are being a real pain in the ass with the "loud exhaust" equipped cars. It's a bunch of BS if u ask me. I mean i got my ticket/summons when i was stopped at a red light. i wasnt even moving and the cop told me that my exhaust was toooo loud. Plain out bullshit. i told the cop that i wasnt even moving, how can he say that my exhaust was too loud. then the pig told me that if i floored my car he would definitly hear it. And the thing is, they're only crack n down on us imports. i never seen/heard of them giving a mustang or a camarro a summons when they got loud ass flowmasters on their rides.

the best thing to do bro is to be aware of ur surroundings. if u see a cop, just pull over and park it up or just dont pass them.

oh and back on topic get a quiet exhaust cops have been nuts about exhaust lately, all my friends have been running with their silencers in because they were getting pulled over like twice a week.

Yea man, cops r crazy bout this loud exhaust shit. i get scared everytime i pass a cop car. When ever i see a cop car, i throw my car into 5th gear to bring the rpm's down to make the car quieter. Dont they got naything better to do than give out kids like us summons.

Well...I got stock wheels and an Apexi World Sport on the way this week already, I'm tired of my car being loud myself. You think that'll help? It's kind of ironic that the week I decide to finally get quiet exhaust, I get pulled over for my loud exhaust, I've had it for 2 years now...

I'm from CA, but he was on the other side of the island, and I made a left past him. As soon as I passed by...he made a u-turn against his red light and followed me. Then he had me sitting there with his flood lights on for like 10-15 minutes. Then he had me pop the hood and was looking at stuff under there..."that's legal, but this isn't bla bla bla." Worst of all he kept asking me how much I'd had to drink, and I hadn't be drinking at all. Then, after he pulls away from me, he makes another illegal uturn over a double-double yellow. I was like nice...

well here in New York, the cops r pretty gay. Take my case, i wasnt even moving but the cop seen my huge 5" exhaust tip sticking out the rear and they just assumed it was loud so they gave me a summons. They didnt even hear my car move but they assumed it "looked" loud. If u have a shiny pipe stick n out the rear or a big exhaust, the cops gonna pull u over.
