sticking gas pedal on 95 Aurora?
I have a 95 Aurora with just over 100k miles on it. My wife came home and said the gas pedal was sticking and making funny noises. I went out and checked it and it worked fine, but when I opened the hood and moved the cable to increase rpm's and let go it would make a clicking sound. Has anyone run into this problems and if you have how did you fix it.
Thanks, Bob |

Sounds like the idle speed control motor is acting up. It should be mounted to the side of the Throttle body.. you'll see the accelorator cable nearby and a little motor with a plunger that presses the thottle blades open. Try cleaning and lubing that. Most likely will have to replace that if it is the problem. Around $120.
Another problem that can happen is a build up of carbon on the throttle body and blade. Use a tooth brush and throtle body/carb cleaner to clean it. I do it every time I clean my air filter just to avoid the problem. |

Speed Control Motor
Hello:
Yes,I had this happen. After you stopped the car and turned it ff you heard a clicking. This is the speed control motor. It runs about $ 100 to $ 120 at the dealership. I recomend have a good mechanic put it in. The flar rate labor should not be more than I hour. Good luck.
