92 F150 302 hesitation

my 92 F150 302 4x4 has a hesitation at low rpm mostly with slow eccelleration. It also doesn't start well when the engine is warm, i have to give it a little gas so it will start and some times the c.e.l. comes on for a few min. when it starts. It runs and idles great otherwise. I have changed the fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. #7 and #8 wires are not touching. I brought it to a garage and they said it is not codeing anything, the fuel pressure is good, they replaced the ignition coil which changed nothing. I don't want to keep replacing good parts till hopefully something works. Any help is appreciated.

Re: 92 F150 302 hesitation

I just found out that the problem gets a lot worse when i tow my boat. At low rpms the engine starts to cut out untill it shifts down, when the rpms come it runs good.

Re: 92 F150 302 hesitation

Otto I have a 93 with the 302 mine runs the same way. somtimes it runs better than others. Mine loads up and blows black smoke sometimes.I like you can`t find the problem. I can`t wait for the day I can afford to unload this pos. As far as looks go I love my truck. I have had to do things to it I thought were premature failers. Oh well I hope you find the answer. I will be watching. I have heard the coolant temperature senser has alot to do with running problems . I haven`t replaced mine yet. I did try a new o2 senser to no avail.
