Pop the door panel to see if the cable jumped or the plastic wheel that the cable rides on broke.

Did both rear windows stop working at the same time?

if they did it could be electrical.

i got the shop manual for a 1996 or a june 1995 rodeo. i have a similar problem but is for the passenger side front & back, & the book says it's the driver's side switch module. & the switch for that window.

i was told it was a regulator
got used for 60 bucks

Mine have rear window motors that have never worked in the winter or on cool days. On hot summer days they go up and down...

but did you check to make sure
the electric window lockout switch
is in the On position?
Don't ask me why I thought that!!
