hey guys,
i have a 95 tahoe 4 door that needs new tires. i was going to put some lt275-75-16 tires on, but they said that anything over 265 is too tall, and will rub causing damage to the fender wells aswell as the tires. is this true? i don't do much 4wheel driving anymore, and i keep it on the pavement for the most part. would i have problems with a 275 or 285? thanks for the help Last edited by 68bird; 03-20-2004 at 06:10 PM. |

Re: What's the tallest tire for a '95 Tahoe?
Too large a tire will rub when turning over bumps. Largest factory recommended tire is 265/75/16. Larger than that you could consider a lift kit.

i know that 265 is the tallest factory suggested tire, but i've heard of others puuting 275's and 285's on with no problems. will it tear up the tire or in side fenders if if rubs a little?
does anyone else have experience in this area? |

I have a 2dr 99 tahoe with 285/75R16 BFgoodrich AT/KO's that I put on at 20K after buying the car (three of the stock goodyears blew at the sidewall at the same time) I havent had any problems with them, there is some wear on the sway bar (paint), but no damage to the tire and they have been on there for 60K miles.
by the way I havent modified my suspension at all. hope that helps, and they sure look a lot better than the stock goodyears. |

285x75R16
Hope you ordered 285x75R16's. They fit perfectly on my 95 4DR, 4WD.
